Welcome and thank you for joining PS Local

PS Local currently focuses solely on businesses that are operating within Port Stephens. Our goal is to offer buyers and sellers with a single platform to shop & trade locally — thereby supporting our local community economically.

Getting started on PS Local is a very quick process and you will have options in regards to the listing and pricing most appropriate to you. You can cancel your listing(s) at anytime by simply emailing us.

Joining is super easy, simply visit a listing that is similar to your business for some ideas (Business, Cafe & Restaurants, Holiday Rentals, Cars, Jobs, ) for some inspiration, and when you are ready, click on [Add a listing].

You will need the following information ready!

  1. Business Name;
  2. Business Description (tell your potential customers about yourself, the services that you offer, and why they should purchase from you);
  3. Images (banner image for the top of your page, and some additional images to add in your images gallery)*;
  4. Links to your social media, website (if you have one), telephone, trading days/hours etc;
  5. Relevant additional tags based on your listing type.

IMPORTANT Note about your images*

Naming Convention:

Please ensure your filename are correctly renamed to:
businessname-description.jpg or .png
ex: pslocal-banner.jpg; pslocal-image-1.jpg

This will ensure we are able to easily locate your listing, manage and SEO optimise your images efficiently at the back-end.

Images Sizes:

While it is super easy to upload your hi-resolution images directly from your phone, the larger the file name the slower your page will load, and the slower your page the more your Google ranking will be impacted. Let’s face it, nobody wants to wait 10 seconds for a page to load.

In order to avoid this, please ensure your image file range between 50kb and 250kb. This will make your page load faster and keep your potential customer happy.

The image file size is also impacted by the dimension of your image, so try to keep those within the suggested sizes:

Logo: 512px by 512px
Banner: 1920px by 1280px
Image Gallery: 1920px by 1280px, 1800px by 1200px, 1080px by 1080px (Instagram format), 1200px by 630 px (Facebook format)
Featured Image: 1200px by 630px (Facebook format) which will insure your image is displayed correctly when sharing your URL link to Facebook.

“Keeping your image file names and sizes based on the above requirements will help your page load up fast and rank you higher in Google search rankings.”
